Rat and Raven, The  The same two-story space that once housed Patty Coyne's Irish Immagrant. Rat and Raven bring change to the place with a singificantly cleaner atmosphere, but maintains the collegiate appeal with darts, video games, and pool. Happy hour 3-6pm M-F, and $1 off most foods. 5260 University Way N.E., Seattle, WA. 206-524-3166 www.RatandRaven.com

Agua Verde Happy M-Thr 4-6p. Mexican-American fare. Cool little place for the kyak crowd... tho perfectly accessable by car. Yep, on the water too.. north side of the ship canal and just west of the UofW Medical Center. 1303 NE Boat Street 206-545-8570 www.aguaverde.com

Big Time Brewery and Alehouse  A classic American alehouse brewing all their own beer in the on-site microbrewery. Food features are pizza, sandwiches, chili, soup, salads and daily specials. One of Seattle's "U-District" traditions since 1988. Happy specials all day with $3 rotating selections. 'On the Ave' at 4133 University Way NE. (206) 545-4509 www.bigtimebrewery.com

Blue C (sushi)  Happy hour 4-7pm weekdays. Happy food is near 1/2 price and made to order for bar patrons. Beer and wine specials. All locations sport a big room with projection screens on the walls displaying casual shots of streetlife in Japan. Modern decor with all sorts of sushi passing on a conveyor.. it'll satisfy unless you're looking for a really authentic type of place. Very creative and trendy. Located in the southwest corner of the University Village. 4601 26th Ave NE. (206) 525-4601 (also in Fremont, Southcenter, and Alderwood Mall)

Ivar's Salmon House On the outskirts of the U district area but worth mentioning. One of the best happy hours in Seattle with the best outdoor deck.. it's a huge barge really! It's like a trip to Tillicum Village but without the boat ride... and a far better deal with a full bar. BooYeah! Could it get any better? Really? Yes. IN THE WINTER months -The happy hour goes all night! Their bar is called 'The Whalemaker Lounge', and like the deck, it too offers one hellova great view of downtown Seattle (twilight is best). Ivar's is located at canal side, north shore.. kinda under the I-5 freeway ship canal bridge. Take your date here and act like a big cheeze with plenty of happy food at a ok prices (they raised $ awhile back) but get cuddly with the downtown Seattle skyline.. Ahhhaaa. Happy hour deals on well drinks and wines, $4 draft beers too. Appetizers like chowder, Halibut bites, popcorn shrimp, and chips! fish caesar rocks but pricy for a happy hour.. still real good! OUTDOOR SEATING! The summer happy hour schedule (July - Sept), usual happy times are 4p - 6:30p; then 9p - close MF. 401 N.E. Northlake Way, 632-0767. www.ivars.net

Sonrisa Modern Mex Happy daily 3-6:30p. This place in the University Village is nice. Fare is top notch Mexican and authentic. 2614 NE 46th Street, Seattle. 206-524-2242 www.sonrisamodernmex.com

RAM, The 4-6pm M-F. $1 off wines, brews, drink specials. Great food. Try the $5 shrimp salad. Sunday 1/2 price tab. Lotsa college scene… Stick to game days otherwise. Northeast corner of University Village. 4730 University Way
